The final track in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe ‘s first DLC pack is Ninja Hideaway. The second shortcut is a simple one: a Mushroom can let you boost through the large root on the last corner, cutting it very short just before the finish line. You don’t need a Mushroom for these, you can just hop onto them, and them hop again to activate a boost as you bounce off them. The first shortcut can be found immediately after turning the first corner here, and you’ll see two large leaves on the right side of the track. You will see a gust of wind shooting up from the caverns – you can use a Mushroom to boost off the track and into it, which will carry you up into the air and land you on the track on the other side, skipping a pretty chunky corner. The next shortcut is near the caverns at the end of the track. ![]() The first is found on the long straight halfway through the course: you can veer onto the grass on the left side to find a flight jump pad, which allows you to soar to the tunnel ahead of opponents. Toad Circuit has even fewer shortcuts than Paris Promenade. What definitely is a shortcut is the roundabout you pass as you start the race – you can use a Mushroom to boost through the center structure that resembles the Arc de Triomphe, blasting right through the Piranha Plant cut-outs. Paris Promenade has a few alternate routes that you can take, but we can’t consider these to be shortcuts, unfortunately. The first set of DLC tracks, these courses come from Mario Kart Tour, 7, 64, and Wii.
